Jonah's Condition

Jonah (2005 born with a half heart, HLHS) developed Plastic Bronchitis 4 years ago at the age of 5. He has to inhale three times a day with tPA. In addition to this, he coughs up 'casts' weekly. If these casts become stuck in his wind pipe, he can't breathe. Plastic Bronchitis also means that Jonah needs to have a fat free diet. (Find out more about Plastic Bronchitis here)

 

 

What we need

Fortunately, doctors in Philadelphia, America have now developed a treatment for Plastic Bronchitis. However, this treatment is only available in Philadelphia and this means Jonah needs to travel there to receive this treatment. The total cost to receive this treatment is approximately $200,000 ($140,000 for the operation and $60,000 for the additional costs). We are unable to pay this cost ourselves and require donations to pay this amount. (Find out more about the new treatment here)

Jonahs Krankheit

Jonah (2005 mit halbem Herzen geboren) und vor 4 Jahren zusätzlich am Eiweissverlustsyndrom erkrankt, steht vor einer Operation die seine Lebensqualität erheblich steigern wird. D.h. Leben ohne Inhalationen, Sauerstoffbedarf, spezielle fettfreie Ernährung und keine Angst beim Abhusten der wöchentlichen Casts zu ersticken. Was wir benötigen

Am CHOP in Philadelphia haben Ärzte eine Operation entwickelt, mit welcher sie die Plastic Bronchitis behandeln können. Sie sind die einzigen Ärzte weltweit, die diese Behandlung durchführen. Dies bedeutet, dass wir mit Jonah nach Philadelphia reisen damit er diese Behandlung erhält. Die Totalkosten schätzen wir auf etwa $200'000 ($140'000 für die Operation und $60'000 für die zusätzlichen Kosten). Die Abklärungen bei der IV laufen, ob sie einen Teil der Kosten tragen wird. Dennoch ist es uns nicht möglich diese Summe alleine zu bezahlen. Wir sind auf Unterstützung angewiesen. (Mehr über diese Behandlung hier)
